Essay

The object of study is the texts of contemporary Russian-language popular songs of the twenty-first century. The aim of the research is to generalize and describe linguistic methods of contemporary song expression creation. The specificity of the topic of the dissertation research resulted in a comprehensive approach to the choice of research methods as general scientific, and partly scientific: descriptive with the use of interpretation (for the allocation of dominant concepts); methods of comparative analysis (for determining the means of representing concepts in a contemporary song); structural in the forms of distributive analysis (to identify the possibilities of linguistic embodiment of the concept); componential analysis (for the description of dictionary entries interpreting the core and the periphery of the concept); experiment (for the analysis of the role of the sound scheme in Russian lyrics). The scientific novelty of the dissertation consists in the fact that for the first time the complex of means of the language embodiment of expression of the contemporary Russian-language song is described, lexico-stylistic innovations are presented, normative and forced expressivity of songs is taken into consideration; the song is regarded as a creolized text, sound and colour scheme of the song is described; the stylistic portrait of contemporary song is formed. The theoretical significance of the dissertation is its direction in solving the modern problems of the theory of the text in general and the song in particular. The results obtained will contribute to a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between the components of the text. The system description of the lyrics allows us to reveal the specifics of creolization, the soundtrack and the coloring of the song, and also to use the results of the research determining general linguistic patterns of the organization of the artistic picture of the world in general. The thesis is a contribution in developing separate theoretical problems of stylistics, semantics, lexicology, conceptology as well as issues of methods of teaching Russian. Practical meaning of the thesis is conditioned by the possibility of their usage in the curricula of higher education establishments to prepare optional courses of cognitive linguistics to help students write qualification papers, to conduct practical classes of contemporary Russian as a foreign language. The provisions of the thesis are highlighted in 17 publications; 7 of them have been published in Ukrainian professional editions and 3 in foreign editions.
