Essay

Object – development of domestic pedagogical studies during the second half of XIX - the beginning of XX century; aim – to systematize theoretical pedagogical ideas on lecturing proficiency of teachers of higher education institutions in the domestic pedagogical studies and generalize the practice of their implementation in the teaching process in higher education institutions during the second half of XIX - the beginning of XX century; methods – general scientific, social-genetic, chronological and constructive-genetic, comparative, biographic, prognostic, of hermeneutics; novelty – the dissertation is the first to provide a comprehensive analysis of the problem of lecturing proficiency development in teachers of higher education institutions in the history of domestic pedagogical studies during the second half of XIX - the beginning of XX century focusing on social, pedagogical, educational and cultural determinants; the stages in the development of ideas on lecturing proficiency of teachers of higher education institutions in domestic pedagogical studies are substantiated and the leading tendencies in their development are determined; the definition of the term “lecturing proficiency of the teacher of higher education institution” is specified; the issues concerning studies of lecturing proficiency of teachers of higher education institutions in domestic pedagogical researches are analysed; results – the data of the research provide for considering the pedagogical ideas of the past and their implementation in present day teaching process in order to raise the quality of training of teachers at higher education institutions in Ukraine. The scientific data of the research can be used while teaching “History of Pedagogy”, “Pedagogy of Higher School” in institutions of higher education, in professional development courses for the teaching staff, while writing textbooks and teaching manuals on theory and history of Pedagogy, while preparing special teaching courses and seminars, for writing course and Master degree papers ; field – pedagogy.
