Object - abdominal testicular retention; goal – improvement of the results of treatment of children with abdominal testicular retention through the use of laparoscopic diagnosis and a differentiated approach to surgical correction of the defect; methods – clinical, X-ray, ultrasonography, dopplerography, laparoscopy, morphological, statistical; results – based on a comprehensive study of clinical data and instrumental methods of research, improved diagnosis of abdominal testis retention in children, optimized treatment tactics of this pathology based on the anatomical localization of the testicle and its size; for the first time, based on calculations based on the Fisher criterion, the diagnostic efficacy of laparoscopy in abdominal testicular retention is statistically proven compared with sonography; expand understanding of the topographic and anatomical features of the location of the testicle during its abdominal retention, it is statistically confirmed that, regardless of the method of intervention, the best results of surgical treatment were obtained in children operated on from 1 to 3 years old; the theoretical basis of the indications for a two-stage surgical intervention in a closed manner with abdominal testis retention was expanded, taking into account the anatomical features of its location; for the first time it was determined that the clinical and diagnostic criterion for the implementation of the second stage of surgical intervention in a closed way should serve not interoperable time, but data of a statistically significant increase in testicular volume within the age norm; for the first time, it was statistically proved that fewer postoperative complications in the long-term treatment period, among open-ended surgical interventions, were observed with the Petriwalski-Schoemaker method, and with closed-site surgeries, the best results were obtained with a two-step operation according to the Fowler-Stephens method; substantiated the need for an intermediate contour plastics of the scrotum in children after orphanopathology; branch – medicine.
