Essay

Object of the analysis is univerbs-verbs of the Russian language as verbal manifestations of the nominathemes on the model of “word combination + elliptic verbal univerb”. Subject of the study is the process of verbal univerbation in the Russian language as well as determination of typological nominative, formal, and reproductive features of the univerbs. Objective of the study is to determine nominative status of verbal univerbs as verbal equivalents of the corresponding word combinations and to develop models of their structural and onomasiological description. Basic methods of the study are descriptive ad structural ones. The study also involves following research techniques: distributive analysis, analysis of dictionary definitions, onomasiological and component analysis. Scientific novelty of the study is in a complex structural and semantic as well as onomasiological description of verbal univerbs, modeling of the processes of their univerbalization, nominalization, lexicalization, lexical univerbation, and quasiuniverbation. For the first time, the research proposes a description of verbal quasiuniverbs as nonderivative units or as derivatives formed from simple words being structurally similar to the univerbs and characteristics of the parameters of quasi word combinations as pseudoformations developed on the basis of verbal quasiuniverbs. The study is the first to determine grammatical peculiarities of verbal univerbs in comparison with grammatical characteristics of corresponding verbal word combinations and to define component compositions of mono- and polyverbal manifestation of nominathemes on the model of “word combination + elliptic verbal univerb”. Thus, for the first time, the paper describes in detail Russian-language nominathemes consisting of verbal word combinations and elliptic verbal univerbs. Theoretical value of the study is in the fact that it develops modern theory of nomination in anthropocentric context, creates basis for systematic description of the units characterized by different form, proposes a tool to model dynamic lingual and speech processes. Material of the study is the basis to differentiate the grounds for the formation of both words and forms, building dictionaries of nominathemes and univerbs of the Russian language. Practical implication of the obtained results is in the possibility of their use for the disciplines dealing with word formation of modern Russian language, lexicology, stylistics, special courses considering problems of diachronic word formation as well as basics of the theory of nomination in higher educational institutions. Content of the thesis is represented in 7 works by the author including 4 papers in specialized scientific publications. Theoretical ideas of the thesis are also represented in other publications, i.e. materials and abstracts of the conferences held in Ukraine and Poland.
