Essay

The present dissertation highlights theoretical and organizational grounds of language teaching in Canadian education system in the context of globalization processes and multilingual society. The research gives a thorough retrospective analysis of formation and development of language education system in Canada from the period of the first organized learning till the beginning of the 21 st century; the issues of Canada’s policy and regulation in the sphere of teaching languages are examined. The dissertation gives not only the analysis of socio-political context in development of multilingualism in Canada, but also determines some stages in formation and development of multilingual society; the research provides a systemic analysis of organization teaching in native language, second language and foreign language at all stages of language education in Canada.
