Essay

The thesis provides a socio-philosophical analysis of thegenesis of sports activity from the times of ancient society to the present. It is proven that it is precisely the methodological tools of social philosophy that allow deeply and consistently to substantiate not only the ambivalent nature, but also the human-dimensional nature of sport as a sociocultural phenomenon, to determine the ways of further development of sports activity through the prism of awareness of its axiological content. The author considers sports as a historically determined activity of people, one of the forms of social manifestation of physical culture, which is based on the competitive activity of individuals, as well as individual and socially significant results of such activity. It has been proved that sports activity has a significant potential in the sphere of development and assimilation by the social subject of humanistic values and ideals, and as a social practice it is a key means of forming a successful, coherent and harmonious person. The thesis studies sports and sports activity from the perspective of the iron extricable connection with the dominating system of values and values orientation; it is established that in the process of sport evolution as a social institution, the formation of universals of its axiological principle stakes place beyond the comprehension of which the study of the essence of the value potential of sport in activity is complicated. It is found out that the comprehensive comprehension of sport as a formalized adversity and the macro model of personality development is encouraged by the fact that, unlike sensuously substantive activity, sports activity is focused not only on the perfection of the physicality of the athlete, but also on the formation and preservation of his immanent bodily-spiritual unity. It is established that the successful functioning of sports activity is possible only in the presence of a full-fledged physical as well as mental health of an athlete, whose indicator is the ability of his body to perform professional movements and trench exercises, sharpened in the process of regular, long-term training. It is stated that in the conditions of nonlinearity and transitivity of the development of a modern globalized world, sport has an exceptional role in developing the principles of a healthy lifestyle, in the upbringing and self-education of the individual, in its orientation towards the realization of social activity, in assimilating and adhering to it "rules of fair play". Regular sports contribute to the formation of a personal culture – the features of chivalry and nobility, tolerance, self-examination and self-control. Particular emphasis is placed on the educational potential of sports activities in the system of social values of the present. Transforming the essence of education is manifested in the fact that it forms and guarantees the organic and integrity of the individual. It is also emphasized that the educational potential of sports activity values as a physical and spiritual personality mastering by an athlete of the environment is a significant factor in the successful social arrangement of many spheres of life both of society in general and of the individual in particular. A significant role in shaping the harmonious unity of the physical and spiritual in a person as a social being belongs to physical education.
