The object of the research is video games as a channel of mass communication. The goal of the research is to determine the specifics, typology and ways of using videogames in the field of social communications. Theoretical relevance of the thesis research is that it created a system that characterizes the specifics, typology and methods of video games usage in the field of social communications. The received scientific results are new; such as expanding knowledge about new media, new information and communication technologies, contribute to the enrichment of traditional forms, methods and approaches to the study of social communications, work with mass consciousness in digital space This theoretical and practical results can be used in research area for further scientific developing, also the use of communication and technological potential of video games in the field of social communications to create effective gameplay strategies in solving communication problems in various spheres of human activities, as well as in the educational process of training specialists in the field of advertising and public relations. The scientific results of the research can be applied during lectures, laboratory and practical classes on the disciplines "Modern communication technologies in advertising and public relations", "Practice of advertising and PR-activities", in the special course "Theory of video games".
