The dissertation is devoted to increasing the efficiency of operation of wheeled vehicles by improving the method of express diagnostics of the technical condition of transport diesel engines. A technique has been developed for constructing an optimized diagnostic algorithm based on the diagnostic model of a diesel engine. It is proved in the work that the temperature of the exhaust gases of the engine is a stable and informative diagnostic parameter that allows you to diagnose a diesel engine by the temperature of the exhaust gases.
