Essay

Object – family upbringing of children in France; aim – on the basis of the study of theoretical ideas dealing with the traditions of family upbringing of children and the generalization of the practice of family upbringing in France to determine the directions of the creative implementation of French pedagogically valuable experience in family upbringing of children in Ukraine; methods – general scientific, special, empirical, prognostic; novelty – the research is the first to provide the comprehensive retrospective analysis of the problem of implementing traditions of family upbringing of children in France; French and Ukrainian historiographic materials on the researched problem are analysed; the stages in the development of family upbringing traditions in France are substantiated; the terms “ tradition”, “upbringing”, “family upbringing” as well as the key term “family upbringing traditions” are specified; the origins of family upbringing traditions on the territory of modern France are analysed; results – the ideas and conclusions of the research can serve raising the efficiency of family upbringing of children in Ukraine by observing and implementing some traditions of family upbringing of children in France. The materials of the research will be helpful for those engaged in teacher training and can be used in teaching “Pedagogy”, “Preschool Pedagogy”, “History of Pedagogy”, “Etnopedagogy”, “Comparative Pedagogy” and professionally-oriented subjects; they may be used in professional development courses for school teachers; they may be helpful for preschool teachers, school teachers and parents to ensure upbringing of children in school and at home; field – pedagogy.
