The thesis is devoted to the actual issue of aesthetic education of senior pupils by means of ballroom choreography. The essence of concepts of “aesthetic education of senior pupils by means of ballroom choreography”, “aesthetic education of senior pupils” is specified using theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical, and aesthetic and art sources; the aesthetic and educational potential of ballroom choreography in relation to senior pupils is revealed. A retrospective analysis of the development of ballroom choreography as an art and discipline that gives the possibility of forming the aesthetic field of a personality is carried out. The components (cognitive, emotional-value, activity-practical), criteria (cognitive-reflexive, emotional-value, activity-performance) and indicators are determined, the levels of aesthetic education of senior pupils are characterized. The method and pedagogical conditions of aesthetic education of senior pupils by means of ballroom choreography in children's and youth groups are theoretically grounded and developed for the first time.
