Dissertation for the scientific degree of a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences in speciality 13.00.07 – Theory and Methods of Education. – Institute of Problems on Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. – Kyiv, 2019. The dissertation is devoted to the actual topic of education of younger pupils striving for independence in the process of sports and gaming activities. On the basis of the analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources, the essence of the concepts of «independence of personality», «striving for independence in the process of sports-gaming activities», «education of younger pupils striving for independence in the process of sports-gaming activities» are specified. Components (cognitive, emotional-value, activity-practical), criteria with corresponding indicators and levels of education of younger pupils striving for independence in the process of sports-playing activities (high, average, low) were defined. The potential of sports-gaming activities to educate younger pupils striving for independence is characterized. For the first time pedagogical conditions (increasing of younger pupils motivation of striving for independence in the process of sports and gaming activities, improving of content, methods and organizational forms of sports and gaming activities for formation of 5-6 grades pupils independence in the process of playing sports games, acquiring of younger pupils practical experience of independent training and the development of their activity for such activities) and methods of education of younger pupils striving for independence in the process of sports-gaming activities were theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally tested.
