Essay

The thesis is devoted to the improvement and development of theoretical provisions, methodical approaches and development of practical recommendations for ensuring the economic activity of the population in the context of educational tourism. One of the leading problems that need to be solved is to promote the growth of economic activity of the population, which is a decisive condition for the labour market functioning, the growth of intellectual capital and the national economy competitiveness. Many factors influence the provision of economic activity of the population, educational tourism among them, which creates multiplier market effects on the growth of gross national product and additional regional product and new jobs, increases the quality of workforce due to the inflows of human resources and the volumes of educational services. The first chapter – «Theoretical background of ensuring economic activity of the population on the basis of educational tourism» – substantiates the theoretical background of economic activity of the population and specifies the concept of «economically active population»; reveals the content and composition of the factors influencing the balance of demand and supply in the labour market; identifies the socio-demographic peculiarities of educational migration in the context of educational tourism and the workforce quality, specifies the definition of the term «educational tourism». The necessity is proved of expanding and supplementing the traditional concept of economic activity of the population, which today does not include the assessment of sources of productive forces renovation and interconnections between the industries. The second chapter – «Analysis of the economic activity of population» – identifies the basic tendencies of economic activity of the population and the quality of its education; suggests the methodical approach to determining the relation between the country's income level per capita and the education of its population; outlines the methodical approach to the choice of priority destinations of educational tourism development for the growth of economic activity of the population. The main tendencies of changes in employment and unemployment levels for the period from 2010 to 2019 are examined, which prove a positive tendency of growth of economic activity of the population for all groups and low rates of this process. The economically active population also depends on the processes of labour migration. The third chapter – «Methodical provision of growth of economic activity of the population for labour force quality improvement on the basis of educational tourism» – substantiates the mechanism for ensuring the economic activity of the population, taking into account the flows of educational tourism; forms the methodical support for the growth of economic activity of the population in the context of educational tourism. The significant changes in the geographical structure of the educational services export a consequence of radical reorientation of the global market have intensified the sharp competition in the international labour market, which demands the mechanism of ensuring the economic activity of population based on the proper selecting of agents of influence on the national labour market and quality of workforce. The practical significance of the results obtained is to develop the methodical support for the growth of economic activity of the population in the context of educational tourism. This will enable to provide a choice of priority destinations for the development of educational tourism, to determine the relationship between the levels of income of the country and the education of population, the use of which will contribute to the activation of the labour market and the formation of additional growth of the gross national product. The stage-by-stage clustering procedure is designed to determine the list of the most expedient, from the point of view of the state and business entities, techniques that ensure effective regulation of the national education system. The use of recommendations to improve the choice of priority markets by local higher education institutions (HEIs) will promote the development of depressed territories, improve their socio-economic development, stimulate economic activity of the population and attract investments.
