Essay

The object of this study is to investigate the system of higher pedagogical education in Germany in the second half of the XX - early XXI century encompassing; the theory and practice of foreign language teacher training at German universities within a certain period; to identify and characterize the features of theoretical and practical experience of foreign language teacher training at German universities (second half of XX - beginning of XXI century) on the basis of holistic historical and pedagogical analysis, to outline progressive ideas and prospects for their implementation in Ukraine; research methods include General Scientific Analysis, Synthesis, Induction, Deduction, Generalization, Systematization and Retrospection. Further methods are Historical Comparative Paradigm (the comparison of), Chronological Systemic and Problem Search; the scientific novelty of the obtained results is that for the first time; a comprehensive study of the training of foreign language teachers at German universities in the second half of the twentieth to the beginning of the twentieth century was carried out. Further, tendencies of foreign language teacher training, the content, forms and methods of such training are characterized.
