Essay

The dissertation solves the problem of generalization and use of historical positive experience in the organization of German-language education in secondary schools of Ukraine in the late XX - early XXI century in determining the trends and prospects for its advanced development. On the basis of the defined criteria the periodization of development of national German-language education from 1991 to 2018 is substantiated; the author's definition of the concepts of national German-language education and German-language competence of a secondary school student is given; the content, organizational forms and methods of German-language education in the studied period are characterized; the prognostic model of development of German-language education of pupils in establishments of general secondary education of Ukraine is developed; there are defined tree groups of tendencies of development of German-language education (to fundamentalization of its maintenance; to updating of a technique of studying of German; to modernization of means of foreign language education); an integral set of prospects for the development of national German-language education is outlined in the following aspects: updating its content on an ethnocultural basis; humanization of technologies and methods of the relevant educational field; formulated recommendations for the use of scientific research results at the national, institutional, personal levels.
