The dissertation is devoted to the problem of formation of aesthetic competence of future teachers of fine arts. The formation and development of domestic and foreign philosophical, culturological and pedagogical theories on the essence of the categories «competence», «aesthetics», «aesthetic competence» are analyzed. The essence and structure of the concept «aesthetic competence of future teachers of fine arts» are scientifically substantiated. Criteria, indicators and levels of formation of aesthetic competence of future teachers of fine arts are determined. The level of formation of aesthetic competence of future teachers of fine arts is found out. The technology of formation of aesthetic competence of future teachers of fine arts in extracurricular work of university is theoretically substantiated and experimentally checked.
