Essay

Object of research: the reproductive capacity of highly productive dairy cows. Purpose: to analyze the reproductive function of dairy cows with different technologies of maintenance, to investigate the arborization in smears of secretions of mucous membranes depending on the stage of the sexual cycle, to develop and verify a test for early diagnosis of pregnancy. Research methods: clinical (examination, palpation, determination of the stage of sexual arousal, rectal examination), ultrasound scan of the uterus and ovaries, cytological (conjunctival smear, smear of mucous membranes from mouth and nasal cavities, vaginal wall smear), immunological (test for early diagnosis of pregnancy), statistical (processing of digital indicators of research results). Scientific novelty: the dissertation developed new effective additional methods for determining the pregnancy and infertility of cows using the test and by studying the crystallization of secretions of mucous membranes, which are aimed at improving the control of their reproductive capacity (duration of service period, dry and intercalving periods, optimization of record keeping). The most important results: for the first time: a comprehensive study of arborization smears of conjunctival secretions, mucous membranes of the mouth, nasal cavities and vagina of cows was conducted; confirmed the informativity of arborization in smears from the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and the vaginal wall, which is directly depends on the level of estrogen during the sexual cycle in cows; it was found that smears from the conjunctiva and mucous membrane of the nasal cavity of cows are uninformative for determining the optimal time of insemination; a test for early diagnosis of pregnancy based on the specific reaction of antigen-antibody binding has been developed and tested; further development: the use of arborization as an additional diagnostic and prognostic test during determining the optimal time of insemination of cows and the diagnosis of pregnancy and infertility; theoretical principles and methods of diagnosis of pregnancy, which allow companies to implement measures to prevent infertility in cattle, to ensure clear veterinary and zootechnical control. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is confirmed by two patents of Ukraine for a utility model: №128360, 141830. The technical specification for the method of early diagnosis of pregnancy in cows and for early diagnosis of pregnancy and infertility in cows has been obtained. Introduction: practical and easy to perform method of crystallization of saliva from the oral cavity and mucus from the vaginal wall for determining the optimal time of insemination, as well as an additional method to determine pregnancy and infertility in cows has been developed and verified. The test for early diagnosis of pregnancy can be used in enterprises of various forms of ownership. Implementation: The main research results are used in scientific and educational work of: Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction (National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine), department of Obstetrics and Surgery (Polissya National University), Department of Obstetrics and Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction (Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University), Department of Surgery and Obstetrics of Farm Animals (Dnieper State Agrarian and Economic University), Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction (Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology), Department of Veterinary Obstetrics, Internal Pathology and Surgery (Podolsk State Agrarian Technical University), Department of Veterinary Reproductology (Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy). The practical implementation of results was confirmed by: "Zoloti Luky LTD", separate units of NULES of Ukraine "Training and Research Farm" Vorzel", " Agronomic Research Station", "Velykosnitynsk Training and Research Farm".
