The object of the research is Transcarpathian television.
The purpose is to study the formation and development of television in Transcarpathia in historical, political, cultural contexts; in particular, to comprehensively clarify the features of television media, the preconditions for the emergence of television in the region, the specifics of formation, operation in different periods, including as a state TV channel, formal and semantic features of private channels, municipal, partially private TV channel, broadcasting features for ethnic communities of Transcarpathia.
Methods of different levels are used to study the problem. Thus, scientific tools of empirical research - observation, description, measurement - made it possible to identify the most obvious features of Transcarpathian television, to record some of its features at the level of content and form, to register some quantitative features. Methods of theoretical research are widely used in intelligence, in particular axiomatic (in the process of studying Transcarpathian television we proceed from indisputable, generally accepted, inconsistent scientific positions, which have the status of axioms in modern journalism), hypothetical-deductive (possible, for example, features of television, conclusions about the influence of ethnic, political, cultural conditions, history of television development, etc.), historical (made it possible to clarify the process of television development in its diversity, chronological boundaries, real facts, etc.). The application of general methods was also essential for achieving the results: analysis, synthesis, abstraction, idealization, comparison, generalization, induction, deduction. Among the special methods, the most productive for us were different types of analysis, such as: thematic, genre, stylistic analysis, as well as some sociological, statistical methods or individual techniques.
The theoretical significance of the results is to develop and substantiate the theoretical aspects of the formation and development of television in Transcarpathia in connection with the historical, cultural, socio-political identity of the region in the scientific field 27 - social communications.
The practical significance of the results is the ability to use the materials and conclusions of the thesis in solving a number of academic scientific and educational problems, in particular the filling of «white spots» in the field of Ukrainian journalism. The materials, conclusions and recommendations of the dissertation can supplement the content of training courses in the history of journalism, journalism theory, social communication theory and other disciplines for students of specialty 061 Journalism of Knowledge 06 Journalism.
The novelty of the newly introduced lies in the original comprehensive study of the history of formation and development of television in Transcarpathia through the prism of historical events, socio-political changes, cultural influences.
The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that it is the first time that:
- the peculiarities of the formation of Transcarpathian television depending on the information policy of the states and state formations, which included Transcarpathia;
- a comprehensive scientific analysis of television broadcasting in the westernmost region of Ukraine - both public and private broadcasters;
- the specifics of the development of television media in the context of the socio-political situation in the region are studied, attention is focused on the dependence of TV channels on local authorities and individual politicians;
- regional features of speech are systematized and singled out, television content for ethnic communities is characterized;
- the period of organization and the first years of work of Public TV in Transcarpathia is analyzed, the main problems are singled out, the expediency of broadcasting for national minorities of the region is emphasized;
- a strategy for the development of television in the border polyethnic region is proposed, which focuses on the importance of preserving broadcasting for all national communities, original author content and the need to improve it in accordance with the information challenges of today.
The following points have been improved:
- theoretical and methodological principles of studying regional television;
- approaches to the analysis of the polyethnic media environment.
The following points have been further developed:
- study of the problems of reforming regional television in the context of the progress of new media;
- the concept of the modern process of consolidation of the people of Ukraine by means of television.
