Essay

The thesis is devoted to the metaphor as a tool of social communication, identification of its social-integrative role in modeling of social processes. To substantiate the theoretical and methodological part of the work, firstly, the potential of communicative strategy in the subject emancipation and social progress in clarifying the relationship between the concepts of “mind” – “social rationality” – “social communication” have been identified. The mind is understood as the dominant criterion of social transformations, according to which the democratic social order in society is being gradually strengthened and the democratic institutions of social communication, important for social progress, are acquiring functional significance. The development of social rationality contributes to the ordering of social contradictions and conflicts, activates horizontal social relations, which allow the effective organization of people’s lives on the principles of freedom, self-expression and social progress. In the process of constructing social change, an important place belongs to the symbolic-metaphorical exchange, which acts as a source of social communication, a factor of social integration of society. Secondly, the role of language as the main factor in the quality of communicative procedures in the social space has been studied. The obtained results deepen the socio-philosophical understanding of the instrumental potential of metaphor as a means of improving the effectiveness of social communication. The provisions and conclusions contribute to the improvement of methodological resources of the interpretation theory and to the expression of the meaning of metaphor as an integral part of articulatory, argumentative and rhetorical procedures.
