Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the actual problem of education of intercultural tolerance of junior schoolchildren in the educational process of primary school. Through theoretical analysis of philosophical, psychological, pedagogical sources on the research problem, the essence and structure of the concept of “intercultural tolerance of junior high school students” are clarified. The potential of the educational process of primary school in the education of intercultural tolerance (based on the material of the language and literature education) is characterized. Criteria, indicators, and levels of education of intercultural tolerance of junior schoolchildren are determined. The effectiveness of the model and pedagogical conditions of education of intercultural tolerance of students in the educational process of primary school (use of the potential of language and literature education and extracurricular activities in education of intercultural tolerance of primary school students; organization of multicultural educational environment for the education of intercultural tolerance; professional competence of teachers in the education of intercultural tolerance of children of this age; the use of pedagogically appropriate forms, methods, means of education of intercultural tolerance of primary school children).
