Essay

It is notable that mixed repairs, post-inspection action planning and risk warning strategies for repair and maintenance are applied in the ship repair industry. Their use is regulated by the “Repairs and Maintenance Policy Guidance”, “Regulations of Classification Societies” and other relevant ship’s guidance documents. To implement the maintenance of machineries, methods and means of technical diagnostics are needed. This offers the possibility of continuous or periodical determining the current state of the machinery. The thesis deals with the analysis of maintenance and repair strategies of ship’s machineries to highlight the forms of repairs depending on the safety requirements. All the documents related to the organization of maintenance have been analyzed. The study of existing models and methods of assessment of an actual state and prediction of its change while in operation has been specified. In addition, the general scheme of ship’s rotary auxiliary machinery has been elaborated. The research is based on two prediction methods. They are analytical and probabilistic. The conceptual model of the maintenance and repair strategy of ship auxiliary machinery of rotary type has been developed. The verification of the proposed model and methods on the example of a centrifugal pump has been submitted. Furthermore, the prediction of value changes of this or that diagnostic parameter in time is carried out on the basis of the regression analysis. This prediction is provided by one or several parameters. It should be mentioned that multivariate analysis involves the simultaneous use of relevant data by a single monitoring system. In order to increase the efficiency of the practical implementation of the maintenance and repair strategy of ships we have used the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The obtained results represent the improved conceptual model of maintenance and repair of ship’s rotary auxiliary machinery to refine prediction methods.
