Ocheretyanko V. Restriction of intrllectual freedom as of the means of formation and functioning of the totalitarian system of Ukraine (20-30-th XX centry).

The Thesis resesrch is devoted to not widely known sides of state policy concerning scientific and creative intelligentsia in 20-30-th of our centry; restriction of its intellectual work; encroachment upon its civil rights and freedom. In the Thesis the place and the role of political censorship in restriction of intellectual freedom are being analyzed; the basic stages of its formation, direction? form and methods of approriate state organs' activities are being exposed. The thesis that general tendencies were characteric to political censorship as well as specific peculiarities which were expressed by establishing more rigid control over Ukrainian national creative thought is proved in the Dissertation. The Thesis affirms that numerous reorganizations which were the result of "sovetization" of scientific - research, educational, art, public establishments and organizations promoted restriction of intellectual freedom. In 20-30-th All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, branch academies, numerous higher education establishments, organizations of writers, artists and composers underwent such reorganizations.
