Kharchiladze D. Formal-semantic peculiarities of VN-composities in modern Italian

Noun compounding in modern Italian is studied in genetic connection with analofous subsystem in Latin, as well as a structural typologic phenomenon in the context of Romance Languages. The dissertation deals whith the rulls of generation of composite texis; methods of modelling of the deep structure of compound nominations were worked out. Semantic cpecification of the V+N-basis motivation and its derivatives is treated as a distinctive feature of the Italian noun compounding. Composities are analysed in tems of their onomastic structure: basis+distinctive feature+predicate. Predicates systematisation used in constructing composites with verbal element is proposed. Onomastic types of composities, both of endocentric and exocentric structure, were studied in the dissertation. Functioonal and synonymic relations of VN-composites are also described.
