The dissertation analyses the graphic cycle of "Pateric Ptchersky" of 1661 as an outstanding composition of the Ukrainian engraving and the art of book decoration/ Also it analyses the composition structure of the cycle and the imagegraphic, formally expressive and semantic peculiarities of the illustrations. The dissertation proposes new variants of the attributive decisions as for the authorship of some engraving; it determines the place and the role of the graphic cycle of "Pateric Ptchersky" of 1661 in the development of the Ukrainian art.
