Essay

The dissertation is aimed at a comprehensive historical-pedagogical analysis of the process of the formation and development of the system of Ukrainian school in Canada (the end of the XIXth - XXth centuries). A complete description of the activities of the Ukrainian cultural and educational institutions, political, religious and pedagogical organisations and societies, state structures of Canada concerning the development of national education of the Ukrainians in Canada is given for the first time. The structure, main trends and tendencies of the development of the Ukrainian school and its role in preserving Ukrainian ethnic community in this country is presented.
