Gavrilyuk N. Scientific and organizational bases of modern seed production in Ukraine sting

Research objects - variability seed quality indices depending on environments, storage, methods of pre-sowing treatment; seed material standardization and certification. Investigation aim - efficiency rise of home seed production by improvements of branch organizing maintenance, accelerated reproduction and extension of new high-productive cultivars in agriculture, elaboration and inculcation of elements for resources-saving technologies of cultivation, storage and preparation of high-quality sowing material, increasing of standard-law requirements to its quality and methods of trials in the system of state and inner farm seed control. Methods - laboratorie, field, phonologic, scale-measuring, mathematical-statistical. Theoretical and applied results - it is demonstrated that moderate doses of mineral fertilizers and crop irrigation along with the reduced seeding rates accelerate production of elite seeds in the links of primary and elite seed production; it is established that seeds are to be storaged better at lowered temperature in hermetic packing; treatments of seed with the plant growth regulators promotes the rise of grain crop yield and improves seed and grain quality; microware treatment raises the quality of seeds with reduced viability; the new approaches to seed standardization and certification in Ukraine are grounded. Novelty - the agronomical and organizational bases of modern seed production are scientifically grounded, the new base of standard-law documents (regulating the seed production branch in Ukraine) is created. Inculcation degree - series of methodical recommendations have been prepared on improving condition of seed production, the first national standards (ДСТУ 2240-93, ДСТУ 2949-94, ДСТУ 4138-2002) have been considered; methodical elaborations are scientifically grounded and inculcated in agriculture.
