Essay

The thesis is a theoretical-methodological, social-pedagogical and scientific research of social and pedagogical basis for youth socialisation in an industrial region. On the basis of the analysis of various philosophical, sociological, psychological, cultural and social-pedagogical concepts as well as national statistics, results of social-pedagogical and social-psychological surveys, methodological approaches towards the process of youth socialisation in an industrial region are justified (on the example of Donetsk region). The youth aged between 14-30 is considered to be a special social-demographic group and an object of pedagogical analysis. The technologies and methods for the research of social-pedagogical basis for youth socialisation in an industrial region are described. A social psychological-pedagogical portrait of modern youth in an industrial region is created and the process of its socialisation is shown. The following social-pedagogical models are worked out by the author: the RegionalDoctrine for Realising State Youth Policy, the Concept of Social Upbringing of Youth in the Educational System for the Years 2004-2008 and the Concept of Social-pedagogical Support of Youth within the Programme in Training and the Use of Skilled Workers for the economics of Donetsk Region (for 2004-2008 including the prognosis till 2020). Basic directions, contents and forms of organising the work of regional social services, social teachers, staff of regional departments in family and youth affairs on realising the highlighted programme documents are defined. The results of the research of the components of social-pedagogical bases for youth socialisation in an industrial region are provided. Trends, regularities, and peculiarities of the process of youth socialisation, its current problems with account of micro, meso, macro and mega-factors in the social environment of a concrete region are defined. Main results of the research can be introduced in higher educational establishments, research institutes, regional departments in family and youth affairs of state administrations and their structural departments.
