Essay

The object of study – the education in Ukraine in the period of revolution (1917-1920). The purpose of study is to analyze the plans and practical steps of the ukrainianianization of comprehensive schools of the period of state asserting (1917-1920). The methods used in the research are: comparative-historical, analytical, statistical, method of the empirical analysis and historical reconstruction. The practical value of dissertation: the materials of research can be used for preparation of lecture and seminar employment of special courses of high school and for popularization among the students of knowledge about sources of ukrainianianization process. The initial period of the ukrainianianization of comprehensive schools in the period of state building of 1917-1920 is under research. On the basis of examining the sources and scientific literature, Central Rada, The Hetmanate, and the Directory’s measures in the field of ukrainianianization are revealed. The process of development and realization of education reforms is characterized. Special attention is given to the problem of ukrainianianization plans’ creation and their implementation in every stage of National Revolution. The peculiarities of teachers training system in changing situation and the role of public organizations in coping with the problems of ukrainianianization are cleared out in the thesis. The process of preparation of Ukrainian school textbooks and the formation of new sense of National education are depicted.
