Mizina L. Categorical reasons for aesthetical analysis of historical and artistic process

The methodological role of aesthetical categories in studying historical and artistic process has been investigated in the thesis. On the basis of analysis of reasons and consequences of comprehensive and categorical polysemy the cognitive potential of categories has been shown: "purpose" and "means", "abstract" and "concrete", "form" and "content", "internal" and "external", "decorativity", "image", "artistic style", "aspect of art", "genre", "variety". This potential comprises aesthetical essence of historical and artistic development, its character and mechanism, cyclic recurrence, differentiation and synthesis processes, trends, the formation of stable historical and artistic forms.
