Object - the teaching process in the domestic higher school; the aim - on the basis of retrospective comprehensive analysis of pedagogical interaction among the participants of the teaching process idea development to systematize the theoretical issues and reveal the peculiarities of practical achievements accumulated by the domestic higher school in the second half of XX century in order to creatively use the efficient ideas in the present day development of the system of higher education; methods - theoretical, empirical; novelty - the research has been the first one to present a comprehensive retrospective investigation of theoretical and practical development of the idea of pedagogical interaction among the participants of the teaching process in the system of higher education of Ukraine in the second half of XX century; the contribution of prominent domestic educators and psychologists of the second half of XX century to the substantiation of theoretical principles of pedagogical interaction of the participants of the teaching process is defined and characterized; the genesis of the idea of pedagogical interaction among the participants of the teaching process in the system of higher education of Ukraine in the second half of XX century is provided; the main tendencies toward the development of interaction in learning in the world education context of the second half of XX century are singled out; results - the state of theoretical research of the problem of pedagogical interaction among the higher school teaching process participants in the domestic pedagogical thought of the second half of XX century is presented and the essence of the term "pedagogical interaction" is theoretically substantiated. A number of unknown archival documents (67), facts and theoretical provisions related to the development of theory and practice of the idea of pedagogical interaction among the participants of the teaching process in higher school have been introduced for scientific study; field - pedagogy
