Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the reliability improvement and operational efficiency of the process of breaking-up of freight trains at the cost of improvement of management and design decisions, which are made on the basis of scientifically grounded methods of sorting humps evaluation. The study of technical support of Ukrainian marshaling yards and car traffic volume which should be sorted is carried out in the paper. A simulation model has been developed for studying magnitudes of forces which effect between cuts of cars, between separate elements of a car and at interaction of a car with a track. In this model a cut is regarded as three-dimensional dynamic system. The safety estimation methods for control of the cuts rolling downhill have been developed on the basis of the proposed model. The methods of dynamics estimation of cuts rolling downhill have been improved by tacking into account the random character of their parameters and conditions of their rolling downhill. That helped to study the influence of braking modes on random distribution parameters of speed and time for the car rolling downhill. The complex of probability rates has been developed for estimation braking modes quality. The problem of braking modes of cuts of cars choice has been formulated as a search problem of such speeds of cars leaving braking positions, which would ensure minimum gaps on sorting tracks and minimum risk of fail in uncoupling of cuts on switches at the prescribed safety level of classification process. The problem is formalized and solved as a problem of dynamic programming. The model of breaking-up of the traffic volume of trains has been developed. On base of simulation methods the efficiency of rated speed introduction to cars approaching to cuts of cars on the sorting tracks and of accuracy enhancement of given speeds realization when leaving the braking positions, has been estimated.
