Essay

On the basis of analyzing the state of the problem of a student's personality development, the main approaches to creating an educational environment in the pedagogical theory and practice are described. The theoretical and methodological fundamentals of creating an educational environment as a factor of a student's personality development are substantiated. The essences of the scientific research's key notions "educational environment", "creation of educational environment" are revealed. Types of educational environments are determined: class educational environment, out-of-class educational environment, out-of-school educational environment. The pedagogical conditions are outlined and the structural and functional model of creating an educational environment for a student's personality development is elaborated. Criteria, indices and levels of a student's personality development under conditions of the experimental educational environment are determined. The efficiency of the educational environment created on the basis of the suggested structural and functional model is experimentally tested.
