Essay

The object of study: social phenomena and processes in the sphere of demography. The aim of study: the developing of theoretical and methodological principles of formation and development of mechanisms of regulation of social and demographic processes in Ukraine. Methods of study: general scientific and special; historical; logical; induction; deduction; comparison; synthesis; systematic approach; abstract and logical; cohorts' method; longitudinal and transverse analysis. The practical significance of results lays in the fact that the basis provisions of the present thesis work were used in the practice of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Social Policy and Labour, as well as in the educational process of the Donetsk State University of Management and etc. Scientific novelty of results lies in fact that it was the first time when a new methodological approach to the state regulation of social and demographic processes was suggested; the conceptual positions of a young family development were worked out; the necessity of reorientation of social and demographic policy and the shifting of the center of its gravity from the stimulation of birth rate onto the process of health maintenance were proved. Were implemented: the methods of demographic study; the methodical approach to the calculation of standardized coefficients of fertility and mortality; the comprehensive approach to the analysis of demographic situation in Ukraine. Further developments have got: the principles of formation and implementation of youth policy in Ukraine; the conceptual provisions as for the assessment and subsidy stimulation of birth rate and support of families with children; the theoretical approaches to the formation of mechanisms of stimulation of educational migration.
