Essay

The dissertation research deals with the investigation of Polish experience in social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren. The dissertation defines the main methodological approaches to the problem of social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren and specifies the methodological instruments of investigation; it analyses the degree of research problem exploration in historical-pedagogical and psychological literature; it reveals the arrangement of social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren; the current state of gifted schoolchildren support is highlighted. The research characterizes main historical periods of formation and development of social-pedagogical support; theoretical approaches of Polish scientists to the definition of giftedness structure are revealed; kinds of abilities are considered and characterized; conceptual foundations of social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren are analysed. Regulatory and legal framework of social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren is analysed; practice of revealing gifted schoolchildren at general education school is discovered; content, forms and methods of gifted children teaching at general education schools are defined; the arrangement of extra-curricular work with gifted schoolchildren is highlighted. The research elucidates the practice of educators' professional training for the work with gifted schoolchildren; the arrangement of parents' psychological and pedagogical education is considered; the experience of state and social organisations and funds in supporting gifted schoolchildren is investigated and generalized; the differentiation of network of specialized educational institutions for gifted schoolchildren is presented. Generalisations and justifications presented in the dissertation research have given the author possibility to state the guidelines for creative implementation of Polish experience in social-pedagogical support of gifted schoolchildren into Ukrainian practical activity.
