In dissertation scientific bases of construction and improvement of the systems of automation of technological processes at the marshalling yards are developed with the purpose of their service performance increase. Scientific positions are based on the developed conceptual models of the marshalling yards and humps, discrete models of the real-time systems (RTS), integral information, functional and temporary models of the systems of automation. On this basis principles of decomposition of the systems of hump automation are formulated. The resource-saving methods of receipt of optimum information structures of the systems, methods of search of rational technical structures with the use of the improved genetic algorithms, resource-saving methods of estimation of rational levels of decentralization in the distributed systems of hump automation are developed. Scientific positions are formulated for the estimation of high level of functional reliability of ACS TR on hump yard and mathematical models of research of influencing of diagnostics in the distributed systems on their reliability. A mathematical model and method of calculation of reliability of the fuzzy systems is improved with the vague reliability of its components.
