The course of life, theoretical and pedagogical heritage of A. S. Makarenko in the system of professional genetic methodology is holistically considered in the thesis for the first time, the theoretical foundations of the professional genetic approach in pedagogical biographistics as a topical research method in the sphere of the History of Pedagogy are defined. The fundamental objective and personal factors of A. S. Makarenko's self-development as a professional educator are established, the main stages and the key trends of the given process are proved scientifically, the systems analysis of the facts and professional genetic context of educational practice of his innovative pedagogical practice is accomplished.
