The subject of the research: relations between the state and the church in 1918 – middle 1950-th years in Soviet Ukraine as a complicated complex of objective and subjective factors coordination, which were determined by communist authorities’ antireligious strategy. The aim of the dissertation: to carry out the complex analyses of power model of creation nonreligious society formation, motivated by the grounds of USSR and Ukrainian SSR party-state policy and realized from the positions of information-analytical, operational, repressive and preventive technologies used by State Security Services during 1918 – middle 1950-th years. The methods: historical, logical, analytic-synthetic, problem-thematic, comparative, history-genetic, periodic, problematic-chronological, history-typological, history-systematical, historical reconstruction, actualization. Scientific novelty: for the first time the complex investigation of the State Security Services’ activity methods in the context of relations between the state and the Orthodox Church in Soviet Ukraine in 1918 – middle 1950-th years was held; for the first time the attention is focused on the politically determined evolution of operational, information-analytical, repressive and preventive Security Services’ functions in antireligious strategy, was proposed its periodization; for the first time were analyzed the unknown before aspects of the Orthodox Church split tactic and tactical methods of traditional and newly formed movements disintegration: “tihonovtsev”, “obnovlentsev”, “Live Church”, “BOPUPATS”, “UAPTS”, “DHTS”; for the first time is analyzed the decisive role of the “NKGB-MGB” higher leadership together with the leaders of the Russian Orthodox Church in preparation and conducting Lviv council, the mechanism of minimization of Russian Orthodox Church influence on society and its integration in the state policy of other confessions liquidation is opened. The practical meaning of investigation is determined by its science-theoretical conclusions, conceptual approaches, the author’s input in historiography; the materials of the dissertation could be used in scientific researches of interdisciplinary character, in study process in universities, in the activity of state and local administrations.
