Essay

The thesis presents the socio-philosophical analysis of the current state of Higher Education of Ukraine and its dependence on Ukrainian society under the influence of modern civilizational context. The author demonstrates that taking into account the peculiarities of the civilizational development in Ukraine, the modern mission of the national high school should be significantly more extensive in comparison with the mission of Western European universities, since the latter play a stabilizing role in social development in their countries, while the domestic institutions of higher education are called to fulfill propaedeutic mission in the development of Ukrainian society.
