Essay

The object of the dissertation is univerbs of the Russian language as verbal manifestation of the nominatheme of "word combination + elliptic univerb" type. The methods used in the dissertation are as follows: descriptive, structural ones, method of distributive analysis, method of word definitions, method of onomasiological analysis, method of transformational and component analysis, and formalization technique. The aim of the research is to determine nominative status and develop models of structural and onomasiological description of the Russian language univerbs originated as verbal equivalents of word combinations as a result being semantically identical to them. The scientific novelty: it is the first time when the phenomena of univerbs origin as the result of transformation of word combinations into words without change of notions have been interpreted as the processes of development of univerbalization doublets of these word combinations without violation of principal similarity of nominative units which composition they are included into; it is the first time when complex structural and semantic and onomasiological description of univerbs, simulation of the processes of univerbalization, nominalization, lexicalization, lexical univerbation (derivation), quasiuniverbation have taken place in terms of verbal modifications of nominatheme of "word combination + elliptic univerb" type and one-structure units. The practical value: the research results can be used for the academic courses of lectures in lexicology, stylistics, and the ones dealing with the problems of synchronic and diachronic word-formation as well as the theory of nomination. The material of the appendix is the basis to develop dictionary of the univerbs of the Russian language.
