Essay

The thesis presents a new approach to the problem of cross-cultural interaction of pedagogical process participants in higher education. The solving of actual scientific task is lying in grounding theoretical and methodic principles of the crosscultural availability formation, in creating and testing the model and methods in conducting of this process. Conceptual methodological approaches (cultural, contextual, axiological, facilitation) of conducting this process are outlined. Based on theoretical analysis of scientific psychological and educational recourses the essence, peculiarities and structure of crosscultural availability of pedagogical process participants have been analyzed, the basic descriptions of crosscultural context and its influence on development of personal culture of crosscultural interaction participants are exposed in forming availability to interact across cultures. The facilitator approach is based on a set of core cross-cultural values, the group effectiveness model, the ground rules, and the diagnosis-intervention cycle. It was described in the model of crosscultural availability formation and structured according criteria, indexes and levels. The comprehensive model encompassed the relationships among individual characteristics and effectiveness of cross-cultural interaction and evaluates the influences of the contingency fit of teacher - student relations as moderators of cross-cultural performance. The model and methods of crosscultural availability formation was theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested.
