Essay

In this study, we conducted the experimental study of ceramides pharmacological action as well as to the substantiation of the expediency of the development of soft medicinal forms containing highly active corticosteroids or dexpanthenol combined with ceramides, in order to reduce the local side effects and to increase the quality or effectiveness of the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases and wound healing process. It has been found that ceramides exert a wound healing effect and the mechanism consists in inhibition of the inflammatory processes and in activation of proliferation within the wound. It has been proven that the containing corticosteroids with ceramides possess pharmacology activity and do not cause dermal atrophy; the cream containing dexpanthenol with ceramides exerts wound healing, proliferative, anti-inflammatory activity and the mechanism effect of this cream can be attributed to the reduction of proinflammatory cytokines, to the increase in the level of RNA in fibroblasts as well as proliferative epitheliocytes.
