Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles and to the development of scientific and applied bases for ensuring employment and raising the living standards of the rural population in the current conditions of agricultural sector reform. The methodological approach to assessing the living standards of rural population in a regional context based on the integrated index of regional human development is proposed. The grouping of the regions of Ukraine according to the standard of living, determined on the basis of the integral index is carried out. According to the results of the sociological research, the necessity of dissemination of innovative forms of employment has been substantiated, in particular, measures aimed at the development of distance employment in rural areas have been substantiated. The organizational and economic mechanism of providing employment for the rural population is developed. The directions of development of the institutional environment for forming the employment policy and living standards of the rural population in Ukraine are determined. Innovative tools for ensuring employment and improving the living standards of rural residents are proposed, and perspective directions of diversification of the rural economy in the context of increasing employment and incomes are identified.
