The theoretical foundations, methods and technologies of system management of increasing the efficiency of energy use and reducing air pollution by road vehicles have been developed and implemented. A set of technologies, equipment and methods for research of road vehicle's energy efficiency and specific emissions of pollutants has been created. A progressive system for regulating the environmental properties of road vehicles is proposed. The system of rationing of energy consumption in operation has been improved. A set of problems related to the national inventory of greenhouse gas emissions from transport has been solved.
