Essay

The thesis has been the first to comprehensively research the process of emergence and development of pedagogical-educational activity of museums of Ukraine in late ХІХ – early ХХІ. The genesis of museum activity in Ukraine on various historical stages has been traced. Peculiarities of development of pedagogical-educational activity of Ukrainian diaspora museums abroad have been identified; purposeful life of oversees Ukrainians has been traced in museum-educational environment of West European countries, the USA, Canada. Retrospective of emergence of museum pedagogy in Ukraine has been characterized within particular chronological period. Theoretical grounds of development of museum pedagogy as a sub discipline of pedagogical science, Ukrainian museum science in the context of national and foreign educational strategies have been established. Social-pedagogical and cultural-historical prerequisites of emergence of national museum activity and museum pedagogy have been identified; genesis of development of museum pedagogy in Ukraine has been studied. Main directions and content of pedagogical interaction of a museum and educational institutions have been defined. Theoretical grounds for formation of psychological-pedagogical qualities of museum activity specialists have been provided; values, knowledge, and methods of training would-be museum pedagogues have been characterized with taking into consideration modern social-cultural priorities. Perspectives of constructive use of the resources of Ukrainian museum institutions and achievements of museum pedagogy in modern social-cultural circumstances have been outlined on conceptual, legislative-regulatory, organizational-educational and personal levels. Scientific-methodical support of use of achievements of pedagogical-educational activity of museums in interaction with educational institutions has been created (curriculum, methodical recommendations, practicum) regarding social role of pedagogical-educational activity of museums in establishment of national-cultural identity, national outlook, spiritual-moral and aesthetical values of a personality.
