The thesis presents conceptual synthesis and a new approach to the problem of development of pedagogical educational ideas of individual spirituality in Ukraine in the second half of the XX – at the beginning of the XXI century.
The paradigmatic approaches of historical periods, which successively changed each other, regarding the phenomenon of spirituality, the content of paradigmatic approaches of Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Enlightenment are studied. It is shown that Spirituality as a phenomenon contains an objective component that reflects a certain historical epoch, its culture, as well as a subjective component that manifests itself through the individuality of the individual, reveals the content of these components, their manifestation in the historical context. The development of spirituality education ideas in Ukrainian national pedagogy is considered: from Cossack pedagogy, with its special interpretation of spirituality, Ukrainian teachers ideas of spirituality of the XIX century, with emphasis on its national component, which continued to exist in the XX century under the dominant Marxist-Leninist ideology, to the current state of spiritual pedagogy as a legacy of previous epochs and the accumulation of their own national experience. The postmodernist paradigm of spirituality is characterized, its secular and religious character, as well as the interdisciplinary nature of research are analyzed.
Moral and educational ideals of Soviet pedagogy are revealed, analyzed spiritual pedagogy as a basis for the formation of independent Ukrainian education, the spiritual searches in the period of modern reforming of the educational branch are considered, the evolution of spiritual ideals is characterized: from the Soviet school to the New Ukrainian School.
The moral and ethical values of industrial society, theoretical and methodological principles of spiritual pedagogy, proven interdisciplinary research of spirituality in the educational space, and the contradictions and problems of the spiritual dimension of education.
The essence, regularities, and mechanisms of modern information space are revealed, the activity of Ukrainian scientific schools and scientists on studying the problems of spirituality in the educational space is analyzed, the value of spirituality as a condition for preserving man and humanity at the present stage of social evolution is determined. In today’s globalized and technological world, there is a dangerous tendency to alienate the individual from traditional historical and cultural values. They lose their influence on the individual and social relations since modern man interacts more with the world of things, the space of purely human relations is rapidly narrowing, and the formal rules of regulation inherent in the world of technology are gradually becoming dominant among people. Therefore, awareness of the need for spiritual education of young people, based in particular on religious heritage, is an important component of a conscious attitude to the preservation of mankind.
