Essay

The dissertation work is devoted to the decision of a scientific and technical problem of maintenance of reliability of means of transport and their elements by application of multipurpose coverings in the course of repair. Scientifically based search, development and implementation of high-performance, easy-to-use, knowledge-intensive technologies for the restoration of vehicle parts to achieve high reliability of vehicles – an urgent scientific problem. Solving this problem requires the introduction into practice of strengthening, restoring and improving the reliability of vehicles and their elements, new and improving existing repair processes based on research in the field of multifunctional coatings. In the dissertation it is proved that the reliability of vehicles and their elements in the repair process should be ensured by using combined methods of multifunctional coatings. It is important to choose the right simple and affordable ways to apply multifunctional coatings, which as a result of the synthesis will be part of the combined method and will increase the life of vehicles. Through research and their analysis shows the effectiveness of the synthesis of electro spark doping, electric arc spraying and pulsed ionic nitriding to create a combined method of multifunctional coatings to ensure the reliability and resource life of vehicles in the process of restoring their structural elements. It is substantiated that among the methods of applying multifunctional coatings the most common, cheapest and simplest method of electric arc spraying. It is possible to increase the adhesive and cohesive strength of sprayed coatings by combining the process of electric arc spraying with electro spark alloying, given its disadvantage as a significant surface roughness.
