The research object is company towns in the Donbas and Dnieper regions from 1870 to 1914. It aims to present the history of the company towns in the Donbas and Dnieper regions (Ukraine) during imperial industrialization through the prism of conflicting interests of town-forming enterprises, local communities, and other stakeholders. Methods: narrative, causal analysis, comparative analysis, typology method. The study is based on a systematic approach. The dissertation uses archival and published sources to explain the complex nature of relations between town-forming enterprises and residents of company townsinthe Donbas and the Dnieper regions. It defines the reasons for the emergence of such settlements, describes their development and decline, analyzes the mechanisms used by employers to gainworkers' loyalty, and draws conclusions to what extent the companies succeeded in this endeavor. It explores manifestations of workers' disloyalty and identify its reasons. The results of the study can be applied in the educational process.
