Shikhalili J. Caspian region in the policy of Russia and the United States.

The dissertation is devoted to research on features of the policy of Russia and the United States, which was carried out after the collapse of the USSR in 1991 in the Caspian region. In determining the foreign policy of Russia and the United States, the influence of these countries on the political processes in the 6 Caspian region, their cooperation with the Caspian states in vital spheres was investigated. With the collapse of the USSR and after the formation of new sovereign subjects of international relations (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan), problems arose in the political, economic, socio-legal, energy, transport and communication spheres, as well as in the security of the Caspian region. The secession of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan from the USSR changed the political balance in the region.
