In this research, a pressing scientific task has been accomplished, which involves
the theoretical-methodological justification of the topic and the development of
scientific-practical recommendations for enhancing the state mechanisms ensuring
Ukraine's internal political security.
The dissertation is dedicated to the Ukrainian nation, valiantly fighting the Russian foe since the inception of the full-scale military invasion and nobly defending
its independence, sovereign existence, and historical past.
The internal political arena of Ukraine experienced interventions from Russia even before the full-scale invasion; other vital societal sectors were also exposed to
hybrid attacks via the political sphere, making our research profoundly relevant for the
Ukrainian state today.
Thus, this scientific research delineates the intrinsic content of the notion of "internal political security" and conducts a theoretical analysis of terms such as
"security", "politics, political security", and "internal political security" in terms of
content and scope, which has enabled, from the speciality "Public Governance and
Administration", to provide the author's definition of "internal political security". It's
proved that internal political security is an integral part of Ukraine's political security.
The position of internal political security in the system of Ukraine's national security has
been established.
Combining the contributions of our contemporaries, specifically scientists and
legislators, knowledge in the field of internal political security has been systematised. To define ways of conceptual creation separately, the method of semantic derivation was employed. The obtained scientific results have been validated in the publication
"Internal Political Security in the System of National Security of Ukraine".
State mechanisms for ensuring internal political security have been analysed from the perspective of a unified system. It has been ascertained that the system ensuring internal political security possesses a distinct and defined structure, anchored on the
foundation of the national security system, and is shaped under the influence of the
state's political organisation. The author substantiated the fact that the system
presupposed the existence of both an object and a subject of security assurance. It was
discovered that the structure of the state mechanism for ensuring internal political
security embodies an organisational form comprising the following entities: The
President of Ukraine, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Cabinet
of Ministers of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Constitutional Court of
Ukraine, courts; central executive authorities, including those with special status, local
executive authorities, self-governing bodies, citizens, and their associations. The system of mechanisms has been elucidated, and each of them has been characterised.
An analysis of the state of development of the issue of internal political security
has enabled the determination that the mechanisms for ensuring internal political
security are being researched by scholars to identify the causes of all threats that
Ukrainian society has encountered. The interest of scholars has been affirmed
graphically. The topic's relevance during crisis periods of the state's political life has
been substantiated, revealing parallels with electoral and revolutionary processes.
The author has summarised the components of the system for ensuring Ukraine's
internal political security through an institutional approach. The concepts of "institute"
and "institution" in the system of ensuring internal political security have been
characterised. The primary functions of the components have been elucidated: The
President of Ukraine and his Office, the National Security and Defense Council of
Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and its Committees, the Commissioner of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, judicial authorities, the prosecution
office, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in terms of specific ministries and
several other central executive bodies. It is suggested that the Ministry of Internal
Affairs of Ukraine be considered the primary body in the system of ensuring Ukraine's
internal political security, which, according to this status, requires a review of its
functions.
Keywords: State security, security provision mechanisms, institutional and regulatory-legal security provisions, national security, political security, and internal
