In the thesis, a theoretical generalization was carried out and the scientific task of preparing future foreign language teachers to develop social competence of specialized schools students has been solved. The purpose of the study is to determine, theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of pedagogical conditions for the training of future foreign language (FL) teachers to develop social competence (SC) of specialized schools students. In the first chapter - "Theoretical principles of training future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students" - the issue of preparing future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students in modern scientific research is analyzed; the essence of key concepts is clarified; the structure of the readiness of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students is substantiated (cognitive, activity and personal components; cognitive-content, operational-behavioral and motivational-value criteria). In the second chapter - "Pedagogical conditions for the training of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students" - the pedagogical conditions for the training of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students are defined and substantiated (updating the content of the training of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students; activation of practical skills to develop SC of specialized schools students through solving pedagogical problems of various types; forming motivation of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students) and a structural-functional model of training future FL teachers is developed. In the third chapter - "Research-experimental verification of the effectiveness of pedagogical conditions for the preparation of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students" - the results of the study of the state of readiness of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students at the ascertainment stage are presented; the content and methodology of the pedagogical experiment organization are substantiated; the results of the formative stage of the experiment are analyzed. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the fact that, for the first time, in the thesis: the effectiveness of pedagogical conditions for the preparation of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students is substantiated and experimentally verified (updating the content of the training of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students; activation of practical abilities regarding development of SC of specialized schools students by using pedagogical tasks of various types; forming motivation of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students); a structural-functional model of training future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students is developed; the content of the key concepts, the component structure of future FL teachers readiness to develop SC of specialized schools students, criteria and indicators are improved; the content of the professional training of future FL teachers; a diagnostic device to find out the state of readiness of future FL teachers to develop SC of specialized schools students are all clarified; scientific ideas about the content and structure of SC of specialized schools students acquired further development; peculiarities of the organization of specialized training in high school; provisions on the use of the competence approach. The theoretical and practical significance of the results of the thesis is that the essence of the key concepts is defined: "training of future foreign language teachers to develop social competence"; "readiness of future foreign language teachers to develop social competence of students of specialized schools"; "social competence of students of specialized schools". Educational and methodological materials for the educational disciplines "Methodology of teaching a foreign language", "Pedagogy", "Introduction to the specialty", "Practical course of a foreign language" have been introduced into the system of professional training of future teachers of FL. A system of various pedagogical tasks is proposed for acquiring skills to solve situations to develop SC of specialized schools students, which are presented in the practicum for students of the specialty "Secondary education. Language and literature (English)". The obtained results can be used in the educational process of higher education institutions, post-graduate education institutions during the teaching courses for FL teachers, the basics of scientific research, the methodology of teaching FL, linguistic didactics, pedagogy, selective training courses, special courses, trainings, organization of pedagogical practice, in studies of the theory and methodology of professional education.
