The problem we are considering is focused on the discrepancy between life and professional plans, value orientations of students of pedagogical colleges and their ability to adequately implement these plans and orientations in the conditions of modern society. This indicates the need for a deeper analysis of the education system and career guidance work, which should be aimed at developing not only specific professional skills, but also at the formation of universal competencies, such as critical thinking, adaptability, the ability to work in a team, and others.
The purpose of the study is to identify the peculiarities of the formation of professional plans among students of pedagogical colleges.
The subject of the research is psychological features of formation of professional plans of students of pedagogical colleges.
Research methods. A complex of the following methods was used to solve the research problems:
Theoretical - a method of theoretical analysis of literary sources, content analysis, generalization and interpretation of scientific data.
Empirical - experiment (declarative and formative)
Methods of mathematical statistics - correlation, cluster, multiple regression, factor and dispersion analysis, in particular, linear and non-linear standardization procedures.
A theoretical and methodological analysis of the state of research of the problem of forming professional plans of students of pedagogical colleges was carried out.
Foreign psychologists - Sh. Buhler, E. Ginzberg, D. Miller, G. Münsterberg, F. Parsons, D. Super, F. Stern and others made a significant contribution to the study of professional planning. The key concepts of their theories are professional planning, life stages, types of careers, professional productivity, etc.
The scientific novelty of the research results is as follows:

• determined the relationship between subjective and objective indicators of the formation of professional plans of students of pedagogical colleges, depending on the level of development of their reflection;
• a psychological functional model of formation of professional plans of students of pedagogical colleges was developed, the components of which are cognitive, motivational, emotional-volitional and activity components;
In the course of the study, the program "Training on the formation of professional plans" was developed, implemented and tested.
The purpose of the program is to create favorable psychological conditions for personality development and to improve the algorithm for forming professional plans of students of pedagogical colleges.
Methodological recommendations are offered to the administrations of pedagogical educational institutions regarding the formation of students' professional plans.
A professional plan is a structural component of professional self-determination - it is a well-founded idea about the chosen segment of labor activity, ways of mastering the future profession and prospects for professional growth.
